Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center is a 165-bed tertiary acute-care hospital in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. Its chief executive officer is Joseph DeSchryver, who succeeded Candace Markwith as CEO in 2013. It is owned by Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE:Â THC).
The hospital offers a range of services, including neurosurgery, a high risk pregnancy program, a dedicated pediatric unit and a neonatal intensive care unit.
The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
It is involved in a dispute with its unionized nurses over terms of its extended sick leave plan.
Parents of a newborn who died at the hospital filed a wrongful death lawsuit in February 2009.
A parking garage at the hospital recently opened.
